A Dream of Reality
Once i had a dream,
I saw a short gleam,
Of reality…
I saw dark souls screaming,
All my hope was dimming…
It was our fate, i dare say,
For we betrayed all wa may,
All we loved, all we craved,
We can’t anymore be saved.
And then, i saw myself,
My black heart, my face,
Full of hate — and envy,
Under high skies fiery.
And from my eyes tears fell,
Of my self-pity into my hell,
I wished to destroy everything,
And into sweet forgetness sink.
Of your forgiveness i wished to drink,
I hoped it would peace to me bring…
But i only wanted to gain,
And what i got — was pain…
And this pain was one,
Which closed eyes of mine,
And again i woke,
Into my dream of old…
